Why do you use Squarespace to build your sites?

Squarespace is a fast growing web hosting platform that is becoming an all in one online platform. We believe it offers much more than what it’s competitors offer. Squarespace offers quality web hosting for an affordable price which we can then rollover to our customers when the site is finished. By specializing in the Squarespace platform with thousands of hours of experience, we ensure our customers get a beautifully designed website and have access to all the necessary features needed to connect with their visitors.



What if I want more pages than what comes with the site's package?

You can purchase additional pages at $40/page. Payment will be added to your final invoice.  You can request additional pages when filling out the design form or anytime during the design process.

I already have a domain, will I lose it?  If not, how do I connect it to my new site?

It's important to note that web hosting and domain names are two separate entities.  The web hosting is where the content is stored, and the domain name is how visitors get there.  You will continue to own and manage your domain the same as you are now.  By switching your web hosting service, you will need to connect your domain to your new site though.  Each domain hosting service's connection process is different, but we will provide you with the specific domain connection support you need to get your domain connected to your new site.  

How do I send my content to you for my site?

When your design form is received we will send you a confirmation email. This confirmation email will contain a link to a Google Drive folder where you can add any content you want to have on your site. You can also send text or images to us via email, or directly through the Squarespace platform.  See our Welcome Packet for more information.

How do I take ownership of my site once built?

During the onboarding process, we will send you a contributor invitation via email.  Once you are listed as a contributor, we will walk you through switching the billing credit card for the web hosting service.  When the card on file is switched, ownership of the site will then be transferred.  You will then be able to make any changes to the site as needed.  

Will you continue to run my site after the design process?

When ownership of the site is transferred, we will no longer be a part of the design process.  Our sites are made to act as a foundation you can build off of for years to come.  You will have access to 24/7 support for your site through Squarespace, and of course we are here to help where we can.  Additional support can be discussed during the design process if needed.  

What if I want custom code added to my site?

Custom coded items outside of the Squarespace platform will need to be added by a third party or yourself once the ownership of the site is transferred to you.   Coded items can have complex effects on a website and may change how they function over time. Stem Web Design focuses on getting you set up with a website that will need as little future maintenance as possible so we provide you with a beautiful and dynamic design using the Squarespace tools available.

Can I get a refund if I don't like the site?

We do everything in our power to ensure you will love your new site.  The initial 25% deposit is non-refundable. We do not collect the final 75% deposit until the final site is approved by you. Once the final site is approved by you, no refunds can be given.
